The Kansas City Royals have signed right-handed pitcher Michael Wacha to a three-year, $51 million contract, which includes a club option for 2028, as confirmed by a source to The Associated Press. The deal could potentially reach $72 million over four years with performance bonuses. Wacha’s contract stipulates $18 million for
the next two seasons and $14 million in 2027, with a $14 million option for 2028 and a $1 million buyout. He can earn up to $4 million annually in bonuses based on innings pitched. The 33-year-old posted a 13-8 record and 3.35 ERA last season, and his return offers stability to the Royals’ rotation.
