NFL Analyst Reports Buffalo Bills Safety Available for Trade
Could Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane be ready to move a player out of Buffalo? With the NFL trade deadline approaching on Tuesday, November 5, at 4 PM, fans can expect more moves as teams gear up for playoff pushes. Recently, we’ve seen big trades, with Davante Adams joining the New York Jets, Amari Cooper going to the Buffalo Bills, and DeAndre Hopkins heading to the Kansas City Chiefs. Even the Baltimore Ravens made a significant move, acquiring Diontae Johnson from the Carolina Panthers.
Beane is known for exploring the trade market to improve the Bills’ roster, but he’s also not shy about trading away players for draft picks. One such candidate is safety Mike Edwards, signed this offseason after stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer leaving, Edwards was expected to provide stability, but so far, he’s been a healthy scratch as the Bills rely on Taylor Rapp, Damar Hamlin, and Cole Bishop in the secondary.
Jeremy Fowler from ESPN has reported that Edwards is indeed available for trade and “would like to go somewhere he can play.”
Given that Edwards is on a one-year deal and hasn’t contributed much, Beane may be wise to trade him for late-round draft capital, rather than keeping him solely for depth.
