With the start of college basketball right around the corner, the Illini women’s team is set to attend Big Ten Women’s Basketball Media Days on Wednesday in Rosemont, Illinois, as practices begin nationwide.
Fresh off a WBIT championship last season, Illinois returns four key starters — Makira Cook, Genesis Bryant, Adalia McKenzie, and Kendall Bostic — along with vital reserve and former starter Brynn Shoup-Hill. All are entering their final seasons of eligibility, as they aim to lead the Illini to a third consecutive postseason appearance under head coach Shauna Green, something the program hasn’t achieved since its four straight WNIT appearances from 2004-08.
As the team heads into Green’s third season, anticipation is high. Cook and McKenzie will join Green in Rosemont for Media Day to discuss the key narratives surrounding the Illini women’s team this season. Here are five storylines to watch at Big Ten Media Days.
