One of the Los Angeles Rams’ key offseason signings was veteran cornerback Tre’Davious White, who previously made a name for himself with the Buffalo Bills as one of the top players in his position. However, White has faced injury issues in recent seasons and has struggled to regain his former performance with the Rams.
After starting the first four games of the season, he was removed from the starting lineup following Darious Williams’ return from injured reserve due to his difficulties in coverage. The Rams are currently evaluating their options regarding White, which may include a trade before the Nov. 5 deadline, as reported by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
The Rams signed White to a one-year, $4.25 million contract, making him relatively easy to trade if they choose to go that route. Despite his recent challenges, teams are always on the lookout for cornerback assistance, and White’s strong resume, including two Pro Bowl selections, could attract interest.
While the Rams might not receive a significant return for White, they could opt to keep him for depth, as his veteran experience could be beneficial in the locker room. This season, he has recorded two passes defended and 12 tackles over four games.
In contrast, Cooper Kupp seems likely to remain with the Rams, as head coach Sean McVay dismissed trade rumors surrounding him after their recent victory over the Minnesota Vikings, emphasizing the importance of accountability in such reports. With the Rams now at 3-4, they appear ready to make a push in the NFC West with key players returning to health.
