Amari Cooper is “ready to pounce” on more opportunities in the Bills’ offense. In his debut with Buffalo, Cooper eased into his role, but now he’s prepared to make a significant impact.
“Yeah, absolutely,” Cooper told Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN on Thursday. “I think that’s why they traded for me. I’m definitely ready for a bigger role and more chances. I’m ready to pounce on it.”
In Week 7, with limited practice following his trade from Cleveland, Cooper saw only 18 snaps, catching four of five targets for 66 yards and a touchdown, all in the second half, though he did have one drop.
“He responded well,” Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady said. “Sure, he’d want that first catch back, but he didn’t let it impact his game. He made some big plays later, showing what he brings to our offense.”
The Bills plan to involve Cooper more against Seattle on Sunday, with Cooper now having a full week to work with Josh Allen and the team.

Allen spoke highly of Cooper’s professionalism, saying, “We’re working on the nuances of the game plan, talking through things we both like. He’s a pro—focused and easy to communicate with. I’m excited to see what we can do together.”
With Cooper on the outside, the Bills expect the entire offense to benefit. Week 7 was just a preview of what Buffalo hopes will be an extended playoff push.
