The Detroit Lions are emerging as a strong contender in the NFC, even without star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson. However, it’s likely the team will look to fill the gap left by his injury with a top-tier player. With less than two weeks until the NFL trade deadline on November 5, the Lions need to act quickly. Typically, a team in their situation might settle for a less expensive option, but with their Super Bowl aspirations this season, head coach Dan Campbell may be inclined to make a bold move. One player to consider is three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Trey Hendrickson from the Cincinnati
Bengals, whom ESPN’s Benjamin Solak recommended on October 23. “He sought a trade from the Bengals in the offseason, and they would likely entertain offers for the right price,” Solak noted. “While he may not fit the typical profile preferred by Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, his impressive performance as a pass rusher speaks for itself. He is one of the few available players who could effectively fill the void left by Hutchinson’s injury. This season, Hendrickson has recorded 7 sacks (tied for fourth in the NFL) and boasts a 27.5% pass rush win rate (third overall).”
