Josh Allen’s subtle streak is important, according to the Bills coach.
The Buffalo Bills, now 5-2, have shown remarkable consistency through seven weeks, with Josh Allen playing a significant role in their success. Both the offense and defense rank in the top 10, and a key element has been Allen’s improved ball security. Known for his high interception numbers in recent seasons (18, 14, and 15), Allen has yet to throw a pick in 2024.
Offensive coordinator Joe Brady emphasized the importance of protecting the football, saying, “Turnovers put you at a disadvantage in the NFL. Even when the offense isn’t fully clicking, as long as we’re ending drives with a punt, we’re able to flip the field. It’s about being aggressive while understanding the importance of ball security.” Allen’s careful play has kept the offense moving, especially when things aren’t going smoothly, and it has helped keep the defense out of tough situations.
With the fifth-ranked offense (28.4 points per game) and only two turnovers this season, the Bills are avoiding costly mistakes, giving them the opportunity to either score or punt without risking dangerous errors, which has proven to be a winning strategy in the NFL.
