Due to an injury, Florida State’s running back leaves the game against Duke.

Florida State freshman running back Kam Davis exited the game against Duke after sustaining an injury on a play where he also fumbled the ball. The Seminoles were already short-handed in the backfield, missing junior Jaylin Lucas and senior Roydell Williams due to injuries from previous games. This gave Davis a larger role in the matchup.

Davis had been productive throughout the game, but his costly fumble came at a crucial moment in the fourth quarter as Florida State was trying to tie the game. After losing the ball, Davis remained on the field with an apparent lower-body injury and was eventually helped to the sideline and taken to the medical tent. His return to the game remains uncertain.

Before his injury, Davis had rushed 14 times for 63 yards, a career-high. With Davis sidelined, the Seminoles will likely turn to Lawrance Toafili. Updates on Davis’ condition will be provided as they become available.
