Recovered from a hamstring injury, Byron Murphy II is eager to take on the Falcons. After bulking up, he’s ready for action.
When speaking with Seahawks defensive tackle Byron Murphy II at the Scouting Combine, he proudly declared his physical transformation: “I came out swole.”
But his size wasn’t enough to sway the Falcons, who bypassed him with the eighth overall pick in favor of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. When asked Thursday if he had a message for Atlanta ahead of Sunday’s game, Murphy didn’t hold back.
“Oh yeah,” Murphy said. “I heard Atlanta was supposed to draft me, but they passed. That’s on them—it’s a big mistake. They’ll feel my presence on Sunday.”

Murphy, who started the first three games of the season—all Seattle wins—missed the last three, which all ended in losses, due to a hamstring injury. Now fully recovered, he’s ready to return. “The hardest part was dealing with my first real injury. I’ve never been hurt before, so it was tough, but I’m glad I pushed through it. It was a bit of adversity, but I’m back.”
He’s set to hit the field Sunday, aiming to help Seattle end their losing streak.
