Stephen Curry had some fun with Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell during the Golden State Warriors’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. Curry went viral a few times, first when he mockingly imitated Reaves after the Lakers guard drew a foul on him, poking fun at Reaves’ reputation for flopping. Reaves ended up with six free throws, more than anyone else in the game.
Later, a second viral moment came after D’Angelo Russell hit a step-back three-pointer over Curry and shimmied in celebration. Curry quickly returned the favor on the next play. The two have a bit of history, having exchanged trash talk in a previous matchup back in March, when the Warriors also came out on top.
Despite Curry’s uncharacteristic shooting struggles this preseason—going 6-18 from the field and 3-11 from three in this game—Golden State cruised to a 111-97 win, extending their preseason record to 5-0. Curry finished with 16 points, five rebounds, six assists, and two steals, though he’s shooting just 36.6% from the field and 28.0% from three in the preseason. The Warriors’ young players, Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga, have been impressive and could play significant roles this season.

The Lakers, now 1-3 in the preseason, have struggled with their outside shooting, going 11-40 from beyond the arc against Golden State. Russell, one of the few Lakers to hit a three, went 2-6 and ended the night with six points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block. The team’s preseason three-point percentage sits at just 29.5%, something they’ll need to improve on before the regular season starts.
