Rangers’ superstar winger is off to a historic start this season.
Rangers’ star winger Artemi Panarin is off to a historic start this season, helping the team to a strong 3-0-1 record, including consecutive wins over the Detroit Red Wings. Panarin, known as “The Bread Man,” is following up his stellar 2023-24 season with an even more impressive beginning to this campaign. In just four games, he has tallied 11 points (five goals and six assists), tying him for the NHL lead with Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Panarin’s performance has been unprecedented for the Rangers. According to the team’s PR, he is the first player in franchise history to record multiple points in each of the first four games of a season, with point totals of two, two, three, and four in those contests. After posting a career-high 120 points last season, Panarin is on pace to surpass those numbers and could once again be a top Hart Trophy contender if he maintains this level of dominance.
The real question, however, is whether Panarin can sustain this form into the playoffs. While regular-season success has never been an issue for him, he struggled in the postseason last year, which contributed to the Rangers’ failure to capture the Stanley Cup. The team will need Panarin to continue his strong play if they hope to make a deeper playoff run this season.
