The Buffalo Bills expanded their lead in the AFC East with a win over the New York Jets on Monday night, but they missed several chances, particularly on special teams.
Kicker Tyler Bass struggled, missing two kicks, including an extra point in the first half. This season, Bass has been inconsistent, making just 75% of his field goals and 90% of his extra points. In response, the Bills have reportedly signed kicker Lukas Havrisik to their practice squad. Havrisik, 25, played for the Los Angeles Rams last season, where he also had a 75% field goal conversion rate and made 86% of his extra points.
Despite Havrisik’s numbers being comparable to Bass, the Bills haven’t fully committed to making a switch, as Havrisik was only signed to the practice squad. Nonetheless, this move indicates that the team is exploring potential changes at the kicker position. Bass could face extra pressure when the Bills take on the Tennessee Titans, with his job possibly on the line.
