Will Chiefs Add a New Receiver for Patrick Mahomes?
As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for a Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, they aim to improve to 6-0 despite facing significant adversity in 2024. The team has already lost two starting receivers for the season. While there have been rumors about the Chiefs pursuing a receiver through trade, there are no indications of an imminent move.
When asked about the possibility of bringing in a new receiver, head coach Andy Reid left the door open but emphasized that the current group might stay intact. Reid acknowledged that previous players like JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman had benefited from prior familiarity with the offense, but he didn’t rule out the potential for others to contribute. However, he noted that new additions would take time to adjust to Patrick Mahomes and the offense.

Reid also made it clear that the Chiefs aren’t necessarily in need of a new receiver at this time, and with no trade imminent, it appears the team will continue with the current group for at least another week.
