Just In Dallas Cowboys: Pro Bowler Drops Unbelievable Quote On Playmaker’s Injury

Cowboys Pro Bowler Shares Hilarious Comment on Teammate’s Injury

After the Dallas Cowboys’ thrilling comeback win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5, wide receiver Jalen Tolbert’s game-winning touchdown almost didn’t happen. On the prior play, Tolbert appeared to take a hit to the groin and seemed as though he might have to come out of the game.

However, Dallas called a timeout, giving Tolbert time to recover and stay on the field. Cowboys Pro Bowl offensive lineman Tyler Smith gave a funny remark about Tolbert’s injury.

“Bro, it was miraculous. JT [Tolbert] literally sprained his [expletive] nuts – excuse me, sorry guys – sprained his nuts the play before,” Smith shared with reporters on October 7, 2024. “Then he comes back and makes the game-winner. Unbelievable. Guys were playing above and beyond. It was great stuff.”

Tolbert, who has become an important part of the Cowboys’ offense with Brandin Cooks out, had a career game against the Steelers, recording seven receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. After the game, Tolbert downplayed concerns about his injury, explaining that the ball hit him in an uncomfortable spot.

“It was a low ball, and I thought I could get underneath it but ended up taking a one-hopper to the private area,” Tolbert admitted during his October 7 press conference. “I couldn’t breathe for a second, but after the timeout, I knew I had to get back in. My team needed me.”

Tolbert emphasized the importance of stepping up in critical moments. “That’s why I work so hard – for moments like that. No matter what, I was going back in,” he added. “I knew the play, the coverage, and just needed to make a play. That’s what big-time players do when the team is counting on them.”

Quarterback Dak Prescott also took responsibility for the low pass that led to Tolbert’s discomfort. “It’s a miss on my part,” Prescott explained. “Luckily, we had another chance, and it was special to get it back to Tolbert. He did a great job of getting open.”
