The Las Vegas Raiders could significantly impact the AFC’s Super Bowl race with a potential blockbuster trade involving. The star wide receiver reportedly requested a trade last week and sat out the Raiders’ recent loss to the Denver Broncos due to a hamstring injury. Though Adams is close to returning to full health, he may be playing for a different team soon.
Rumors suggest Adams is keen on joining the New York Jets to reunite with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with whom he played eight seasons for the Green Bay Packers. The Jets are the favorites to land Adams, a move that could greatly improve their Super Bowl chances. However, competition may come from the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens, both of which are also interested, according to betting odds.
Reports indicate that a trade could happen within 48 hours, with the Raiders seeking a second-round pick in return. The Jets, currently at 2-3 after a loss to the Minnesota Vikings, would benefit from Adams’ playmaking abilities to energize their offense.
Meanwhile, the Saints offer Adams a familiar connection with quarterback Derek Carr, his former teammate at Fresno State and the Raiders. The Ravens could also be an enticing option, as they are strong Super Bowl contenders but lack a premier wide receiver.
Although Adams remaining with the Raiders is still possible, it seems increasingly likely he’ll be in a new uniform when he next takes the field.
