The Buffalo Bills, currently sitting at 3-2 after a tough loss to the Houston Texans, remain strong contenders for the playoffs. Their only other defeat this season was against the Baltimore Ravens.
In their pursuit of a Super Bowl run, the Bills are reportedly close to making a major move to bolster their offense. According to reports, Buffalo is closely monitoring the situation with wide receiver Davante Adams, who has requested a trade from the Raiders.
Numerous teams, including the Bills, have shown interest in Adams, but other teams have been more aggressive in their pursuit. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport notes that Buffalo has been in contact with the Raiders about a potential trade but may need to sweeten their offer to land Adams.
After the Bills’ Week 5 loss, Sports Illustrated’s Ronnie Eastham emphasized that Buffalo must address their need for a top receiver for quarterback Josh Allen. “Buffalo needs help at wide receiver, and with one of the league’s best in Davante Adams reportedly available, the Bills have shown interest,” Eastham wrote. Despite financial challenges — Adams has a $17 million base salary, and Buffalo has just over $3 million in cap space — Eastham believes the move is possible if the team is determined enough.
