JUST IN: Duke Blue Devils land commitment of another top experience player

Top-ranked 2025 guard Emilee Skinner has committed to Duke following her official visit. Skinner, a five-star recruit and the No. 10 player in the class, chose Duke over Iowa, UCLA, Notre Dame, and TCU. The 6-foot shooting guard from Millville, Utah, visited Iowa, UCLA, and Duke before deciding to cancel her scheduled trips to TCU and Notre Dame after feeling confident about Duke.

In an interview with 247Sports, Skinner highlighted player development as a key factor in her decision. “It’s about development and fitting into a system that plays to my strengths,” she said. She also emphasized the importance of a strong team culture, good relationships with coaches, and a focus on education.

Skinner expressed admiration for Duke’s coach, Kara Lawson, citing Lawson’s WNBA experience and her ability to prepare players for the next level with a pro-style system. Skinner said she was impressed by Duke’s campus, academics, and coaching staff.

247Sports’ Director of Scouting, Brandon Clay, praised Skinner’s versatility, noting her shot-making, driving ability, and rebounding from the wing. He also highlighted her size and length, which make her a challenging matchup for opponents.
