The Kansas City Chiefs, one of only two remaining undefeated teams alongside the Minnesota Vikings, are dealing with significant injuries on offense as they head into Week 5. Despite their resilience and gritty performances early in the 2024 NFL season, the Chiefs are now facing the possibility of being without key offensive players for the foreseeable future.
Wide receivers Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice are likely out for the season, and running back Isiah Pacheco is also sidelined with a long-term injury. In response, the Chiefs quickly re-signed veteran running back Kareem Hunt to help fill the gap in their backfield. However, Hunt’s availability for the Week 5 “Monday Night Football” matchup against the New Orleans Saints is in doubt, as he’s listed as questionable with a shoulder injury.

According to insider Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports, the Chiefs might hesitate to play Hunt, especially with their bye in Week 6. If Hunt is unavailable, Kansas City will rely on running backs Samaje Perine and Carson Steele to lead the ground game. Meanwhile, the Saints, eager to bounce back from two consecutive losses to the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons, will look to make a statement against the defending champions.
