Duke Basketball Target Switches Official Visit from UNC to Blue Devils
Acaden Lewis, a rising star guard from Sidwell Friends School (D.C.), has changed his official visit plans, opting to visit Duke this weekend for the Blue Devils’ Countdown to Craziness instead of UNC. As reported by On3’s Joe Tipton, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior will be in Durham to meet with Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer, coinciding with the team’s event at Cameron Indoor Stadium, which kicks off at 7 p.m. ET on Friday and airs on ACC Network Extra at 8 p.m.
Originally, Lewis was scheduled to visit Duke’s rival, UNC, this weekend. However, the fast-rising prospect, who has jumped 64 spots to No. 36 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite rankings since January, canceled his UNC visit on Tuesday and removed the Tar Heels from consideration.
Now, Lewis is down to three final schools: Duke, Kentucky, and defending national champion UConn. He recently visited UConn and plans to visit Kentucky before making his decision, which is expected ahead of the early signing period in mid-November.
Duke officially entered the race for Lewis with an offer in late June and previously hosted him for an unofficial visit in early August.
