Jets right tackle will miss a few games due to a knee injury, as announced by coach Robert Saleh. Moses injured his left knee during the third quarter of the Jets’ 24-3 victory over the Patriots. Rookie first-round pick Olu Fashanu will step in for Moses, making his first NFL start against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Despite the setback, tests revealed that the injury isn’t severe enough to place Moses on injured reserve, which would have sidelined him for at least four games. Moses was acquired in a trade with Baltimore in March and had previously played for the Jets in 2021.
Fashanu, selected 11th overall from Penn State, played left tackle in college but has been training on the right side since joining the Jets. Although initially expected to be a backup behind Tyron Smith, Fashanu has impressed during training camp and will now fill in for Moses.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers praised Fashanu’s maturity and compared him to former Jets left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson, highlighting the rookie’s consistent performance and readiness for the role.
