SAD NEWS: Andy Reid confirms another exceptional player added to injury list.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid provided a concerning update on Isiah Pacheco’s injury. Pacheco, who has become a key part of the Chiefs’ offense alongside Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, is now facing the possibility of missing the remainder of the season due to a broken fibula.

Originally, Pacheco was expected to be out for six to eight weeks, potentially returning around Thanksgiving. However, there is now uncertainty about whether he will return at all this season, with a potential comeback delayed until 2025. Last season, Pacheco’s contributions in the backfield were crucial in helping the Chiefs win their second straight Super Bowl, despite limited options at wide receiver.

Reid stated, “I can’t give you a time when he’ll return. We’ll just see if it’s this season or next season. We’ll see how he does as he goes here.”

Pacheco was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Bengals and had logged 34 rush attempts in two games, ranking ninth in the NFL at the time. In his absence, the Chiefs will rely on newly-signed Samaje Perine and rookie Carson Steele to carry the running game. Additionally, the team has brought back Kareem Hunt, signing him to the practice squad to add depth.

Hunt, who was drafted by the Chiefs in 2017, was released the following year after a video surfaced of him involved in an altercation. He later joined the Cleveland Browns. Reid expressed confidence in Hunt’s growth, saying, “He did a nice job in Cleveland, and we talked to people there, and there are no issues.”
