Dolphins Sign Tyler Huntley to Compete for Starting Job with Skylar Thompson
The Miami Dolphins have signed a new quarterback, Tyler Huntley, who will compete with Skylar Thompson for the starting role while Tua Tagovailoa remains sidelined. Reports confirm that the Dolphins are bringing Huntley, a former Pro Bowl quarterback, onto the roster from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad. Huntley, who has been in the NFL since 2020, spent most of his career with the Ravens and had a brief stint with the Browns this offseason before rejoining Baltimore’s practice squad.

Huntley, known for his strong arm and mobility, could provide the Dolphins with the boost they need until Tagovailoa returns. He made the Pro Bowl in 2022 after starting four games and finishing with a 2-2 record for the Ravens. While Skylar Thompson is expected to start against the Seahawks in Week 3, Huntley may prove to be the better option moving forward, especially when Miami faces the Titans in Week 4. With Miami’s talented receiving corps and a strong running game under Mike McDaniel, Huntley could challenge Thompson for the starting role if he quickly adapts to the Dolphins’ system.
