On Friday night, Florida’s coaching staff is hitting the recruiting trail while the Florida Gators prepare to open conference play against Texas A&M in The Swamp on Saturday. Both teams enter the matchup with 1-1 records. With the team playing at home this weekend, members of Billy Napier’s staff, as is tradition, will be attending key high school games to scout potential recruits. Offensive line coach John Decoster is expected to visit Tampa Carrollwood Day’s four-star lineman Ziyare Addison, who committed to Oregon but remains a top target for Florida.
Wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, who already has commitments from three prospects, will attend the game of one of them, three-star wideout Joshua Moore from West Broward. Despite interest from Florida State and Miami, Moore remains a priority for the Gators. He will also be visiting Gainesville for Saturday’s game.
Several Gators commits are also in action this week. Among them, 4-star receiver Vernell Brown III plays for Orlando’s Jones High, and 4-star edge rusher Jalen Wiggins of Rickards will have linebackers coach Mike Peterson in attendance for his Friday game. Other notable commits like 4-star cornerback Ben Hanks Jr., running back Waltez Clark, linebacker Myles Johnson, and several others are competing in key matchups.
The staff continues its diligent work on the recruiting trail, staying committed to securing top prospects for the future.
