Alabama’s five-star quarterback commit, Keelon Russell, has started his senior season with impressive performances, while also encouraging others to join him. Russell, from Duncanville, Texas, threw for 325 yards and five touchdowns in his team’s opening victory over rival Dallas South Oak Cliff.
Entering his third year as the starting QB, Russell displayed full control of the offense, guiding his team up and down the field with ease. Ranked by 247Sports as the No. 10 overall prospect and the third-best quarterback in the 2025 class, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound senior is also ranked No. 4 in Texas. Confident about leading Duncanville to a third consecutive state championship, Russell was excited to be back on the field.

“It felt great to be back out there,” said Russell. “Starting my senior year with a win feels amazing. I think it’s a preview of what’s to come for our team in the next few weeks. We’re aiming to repeat and make history.
“I’d say the game is getting easier for me. I have more poise and confidence, which has grown significantly since becoming the starter. I’ve learned to read defenses better and understand my role on the team. The poise you see is a reflection of the confidence I’ve developed as a quarterback.”
