Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer met with the media on Monday to discuss Saturday’s win over South Florida and preview the upcoming Week 3 matchup against Wisconsin.

DeBoer started by addressing injuries, noting that Cole Adams suffered an upper extremity injury and will be monitored throughout the week, while Elijah Pritchett played the last few snaps of the game and came through healthy. DeBoer also mentioned that Kadyn Proctor is making progress in his recovery and could be close to returning this weekend.

Reflecting on the South Florida game, DeBoer acknowledged the need to focus on penalties, turnovers, and takeaways, emphasizing the importance of limiting mistakes. However, he praised his team for their energy, effort, and resilience, noting how they regrouped at halftime and continued to fight in the second half.

On the defensive side, DeBoer highlighted the development of linebacker Justin Jefferson and his growing leadership role. He also commended Jalen Milroe’s progress at quarterback, particularly in extending plays and improving his decision-making under pressure. DeBoer emphasized the importance of Milroe continuing to develop chemistry with his teammates and improving his pocket presence.

Looking ahead to the game against Wisconsin, DeBoer acknowledged the challenge of playing in a tough environment but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion. He also praised Tim Keenan’s consistent performance on the defensive line, noting his impact in pushing the pocket and maintaining discipline in his assignments.
