BREAKING: Top talented star finally gets promoted as Yankees place phenomenal infielder on IL with lingering hip injury.

The New York Yankees placed DJ LeMahieu on the 10-day injured list on Monday due to a lingering right hip impingement, with manager Aaron Boone suggesting the infielder may not return this season. LeMahieu, who has been dealing with the issue for weeks, has received treatment but experienced fluctuating symptoms. The 36-year-old, a two-time batting champion, is hitting .204 with two home runs and 26 RBIs in 67 games this season. He had already missed the first 55 games due to a slow-healing foot fracture.

In response, the Yankees recalled top prospect Jasson Domínguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Boone expressed excitement about Domínguez joining the team, stating that he would play center field and bat sixth as the Yankees face the Kansas City Royals. Domínguez, who was not initially called up when rosters expanded on September 1, has impressed with his talent and work ethic, earning this opportunity.

Domínguez, 21, batted .314 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs across three minor league levels this season. Signed for a $5.1 million bonus in 2019, he has faced multiple injuries, including a torn elbow ligament last September and an oblique strain in June, but has performed well since his return. Boone highlighted the prospect’s recent strong performances, noting that the timing was right to bring him up.

In other roster moves, the Yankees activated Jon Berti after he missed 90 games with a calf strain, and they designated reliever Anthony Misiewicz for assignment.
