LATEST UPDATE: Fans chanting the return of exceptional Sharpshooter.

As NBA teams finalize their rosters, some are still extending training camp invitations in search of hidden talent. Former Dallas Maverick Davis Bertans has received such an invitation from the Golden State Warriors.

Bertans, who was traded from the Mavericks in the 2023 NBA Draft, is now hoping to secure a spot with the Warriors through this opportunity. The invitation was initially announced by Bertans’ agent, Artus Kalnitis, and later confirmed by Marc Stein. The Mavericks had acquired Bertans from the Washington Wizards in 2022 as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade. During his time in Dallas, he played 67 regular-season games and 18 playoff games, contributing to the team’s run to the Western Conference Finals. Known for his exceptional three-point shooting, Bertans earned the nickname “The Latvian Laser” with a career three-point shooting percentage of 39.6%.

To shed his substantial contract, the Mavericks traded down with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2023 Draft, allowing the Thunder to select Cason Wallace while the Mavs acquired Dereck Lively II. Both players have found success with their new teams. Bertans was later traded to the Charlotte Hornets for Gordon Hayward, but he was waived after the season.
