USC Trojans Recruiting: USC Targets Three Top Prospect

After a decisive 27-20 victory over LSU on Sunday night in Las Vegas, USC Trojans coach Lincoln Riley and his staff are gaining traction in recruiting. This win is already paying off, with two high-profile high school recruits listing USC among their top choices and another planning a visit to Los Angeles. As USC embarks on its first season in the Big Ten, the team has more chances to attract top-tier talent throughout the year.

1. On Sunday, 4-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy from Tupelo, MS, named USC among his top six schools, which also include LSU, Oregon, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Oklahoma. McCoy, who stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 250 pounds, praised USC’s coaching staff for their consistent communication and support, highlighting the personal connection he feels with them. He noted that Riley’s own background from a small town resonates with him. McCoy is ranked the No. 56 overall prospect and No. 4 defensive lineman nationally by On3. If he commits, he would become the sixth player in USC’s 2026 recruiting class, joining other recruits like 4-star linebacker Xavier Griffin and 4-star defensive back Brandon Lockhart.

2. On Tuesday, 4-star running back Cardae Mack from Atascocita, TX, narrowed his list to ten schools, with USC among them. Mack, who is 5-9 and weighs 195 pounds, is ranked the No. 203 overall prospect and No. 22 running back in the 2026 class by On3. After a standout sophomore season, Mack is expected to continue his strong performance as a junior.

3. Later on Tuesday, 4-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon from Lucas Lovejoy, TX, announced plans to visit USC on October 12 for their game against Penn State. McCutcheon, currently committed to Florida State, is rated the No. 79 overall prospect and No. 12 wide receiver in the 2025 class. With Florida State struggling early in the 2024 season, USC has a chance to potentially change McCutcheon’s commitment, especially with a strong performance on his visit.
