BREAKING: Another Devastating season ending Injury from Virginia Tech Key Player

Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry provided injury updates ahead of the team’s upcoming game against Marshall after addressing the media on Tuesday. Reflecting on last weekend’s disappointing loss to Vanderbilt, Pry acknowledged the team’s shortcomings, stating, “We didn’t play well enough or coach well enough to win the game, and they did. They outplayed us and outcoached us.”

Despite the setback, Pry expressed gratitude for the Virginia Tech fans who traveled to Nashville, contributing to Vanderbilt’s first sellout in seven years. He is now focused on the Hokies’ home opener against the Marshall Thundering Herd.

However, Virginia Tech faces injury challenges following the season opener. Senior safety Jalen Stroman is the most notable injury, with Pry indicating that Stroman is unlikely to play on Saturday and may miss several weeks. In Stroman’s absence, Jaylen Jones, Mose Phillips, and freshman Quentin Reddish are expected to see more playing time, with junior cornerback Mansoor Delane potentially stepping in at safety if needed.

Everything From Brent Pry's Press Conference Ahead of Matchup With Marshall

Tight end Nick Gallo, still recovering from an ACL tear last season, is doubtful for the Marshall game and did not travel to Vanderbilt. Additionally, junior linebacker Will Johnson, a key special teams player, was injured during a punt return late in the game and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period. Pry praised Johnson’s toughness, noting that his injury will be a significant loss for the team.

On the latest depth chart, junior linebacker Keli Lawson is listed as the starter at will linebacker, with Jaden Keller backing up Sam Brumfield at mike linebacker. The Hokies are eager to bounce back against Marshall, who defeated them last season in Huntington.
