Three-star cornerback has committed to LSU, choosing the Tigers over Texas. The Longhorns have now lost another defensive back to LSU’s coach Corey Raymond. During a ceremony at his high school, Ruston (La.) native Anding announced his decision, picking LSU over the Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas Longhorns.
Anding’s commitment further solidifies LSU’s dominance in recruiting within the state, especially after defensive backs coach Corey Raymond recently flipped Kade Phillips from Texas to LSU. This leaves Texas with just one defensive back commitment in their 2025 class.
Texas first offered the 5’11”, 165-pound cornerback in late March, hosting him soon after for an unofficial visit during their major recruiting event. Anding returned to Texas for an official visit on June 21, but his recruitment took a significant turn when LSU extended an offer a week later, leading him to delay his commitment announcement.
Since LSU’s offer, all 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions have pointed towards Anding choosing the in-state program, resulting in little suspense during his announcement.
Ranked as the No. 448 player nationally and the No. 39 cornerback by the 247Sports Composite rankings, Anding’s decision means all 17 cornerbacks Texas targeted for the 2025 class are now committed elsewhere. This leaves the Longhorns with few options in the defensive backfield, with five-star safety prospect Jonah Williams being the only uncommitted player Texas is still pursuing ahead of his upcoming decision.
