Juan Soto has a message for Yankees fans who are chanting for him to stay.
Yankees fans have made it very clear that they want Juan Soto to remain with the team next season and beyond, and Soto is well aware of their desire. During Sunday’s win over the Colorado Rockies, the crowd at Yankee Stadium could be heard chanting “please stay Soto,” loud enough for both Soto and Aaron Judge to notice and react.
After the game, Soto was asked about the chants. He humorously suggested that fans should direct their pleas to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman. “I don’t know. They have to talk to Cashman,” Soto said with a laugh.

With Soto set to become a free agent at the end of the season, his future is a major topic for the Yankees. Although he will command a hefty contract, his performance, including his 37th home run of the season on Sunday, makes him worth the investment. While there’s a belief that the Yankees are the frontrunners to retain him, the cross-town Mets might also be in the mix.
Despite their reputation for being tough on players, Yankees fans have really embraced Soto, which could influence his decision, though the financial aspect will undoubtedly play a significant role.
