Positive Sign as Syracuse Basketball Named Finalist for 4-Star Wing Ryder Frost

Ryder Frost, whose recruitment has surged following an impressive spring and summer on the AAU circuit, has named Syracuse basketball among his top eight schools. This is a promising development for the Orange, though it’s not entirely surprising that they made the list for the 2025 four-star wing and top-100 national prospect in the rising senior class.

Syracuse extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-6 Frost in late May. The following month, he took an official visit to the campus. In recent interviews, Frost has spoken highly of Syracuse basketball, noting that his official visit went well.

According to a social media post by recruiting insider Sam Kayser, who runs the X account 24/7 High School Hoops, Frost’s top eight includes Syracuse, Penn State, Michigan, BYU, Notre Dame, Iowa, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin. Kayser described Frost as “an athletic wing who can knock down shots from all over the floor, a good positional rebounder, and a solid defender.”

As of Sunday evening, On3’s recruiting prediction machine gave Syracuse a slight edge for Frost, with Penn State, Wisconsin, and Iowa close behind.

Syracuse Basketball Remains in the Hunt for 2025 4-Star Wing Ryder Frost

Frost is a rising senior at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H. This spring and summer, he garnered significant attention from national analysts and scouts for his performances with the 17U team of the Boston-based Middlesex Magic in the Under Armour Association league. According to a recent X post by Middlesex Magic, Frost has received more than 30 scholarship offers during his recruitment, with many coming in after his standout performances on the Under Armour circuit.

Frost is one of several priority targets for Syracuse in the 2025 class. In late May, five-star forward and top-20 national prospect Sadiq White Jr. committed to Syracuse, marking the first commitment for the Orange in this cycle.

Recently, Syracuse also made the top six for 2025 four-star recruits Kiyan Anthony, London Jemison, and Derek Dixon, all of whom have taken official visits to the school. Additionally, 2025 four-star guard Acaden Lewis included Syracuse in his top eight after an unofficial visit on August 1.

Looking ahead, 2025 four-star wing/small forward Shon Abaev has scheduled an official visit to Syracuse from August 30 to August 31.
