Good News: Florida Gator Has Lands Another Commitment With Washington Four-Star Cornerback

The Florida Gators secured a significant commitment for their 2025 recruiting class on Friday, adding four-star cornerback Ben Hanks Jr. from Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, Florida. Hanks Jr., who had several offers, ultimately chose Florida over Louisville and Miami. This addition brings the Gators’ total to three Top 100 recruits in the 2025 cycle.

Hanks Jr. is the second legacy commitment for the Gators this cycle, following in the footsteps of his father, Ben Hanks Sr., a former linebacker under Coach Steve Spurrier in the 1990s. He joins wide receiver Vernell Brown III as another legacy recruit. While Hanks Jr. was initially expected to lean toward the hometown Miami Hurricanes, the Gators gained momentum in his recruitment following a pair of visits in June.

With Hanks Jr.’s commitment, the Gators now have 13 recruits in their 2025 class, including other notable players like wide receiver Vernell Brown III, edge rusher Jalen Wiggins, running back Waltez Clark, linebacker Myles Johnson, safety Demetres Samuel Jr., and several others.
