The Vegas Golden Knights have signed veteran forward Tanner Pearson to a Professional Tryout Offer (PTO) on Tuesday. Pearson, who spent last season with the Montreal Canadiens, recorded five goals and eight assists in 54 games. The 32-year-old forward is aiming to secure a spot in the Golden Knights’ lineup as he seeks to continue his NHL career.
A first-round pick, 30th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft, Pearson has played for four NHL teams—Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, and Montreal—over 11 seasons. He won a Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2014. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 200 pounds, the left wing has accumulated 138 goals and 147 assists in 644 regular season games, along with nine goals and 14 assists in 51 playoff games.

For the upcoming 2024-25 season, Pearson will be vying for a fourth-line role with Vegas. During his time with Montreal last season, he averaged 12:56 of ice time per game and ended the season with a minus-12 rating. Hailing from Kitchener, Ontario, Pearson missed most of the 2022-23 season due to complications from a hand injury that required multiple surgeries. He earned $3.25 million last season before becoming an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
