Nebraska offensive lineman Teddy Prochazka’s season has come to an early end once again due to a knee injury, marking the third time in four years. Nebraska coach Matt Rhule announced Tuesday that Prochazka, a 6-foot-10, 315-pound junior, tore the ACL in his right knee during a one-on-one drill on Monday, ruling him out for the season.
Prochazka was expected to start at left tackle this season. “This is his fourth surgery,” Rhule said. “It’s a really tough time for him, but he was at the team meeting last night with an incredible attitude.”
Redshirt freshman Gunnar Gottula has been filling in at left tackle with the first-team offense following Prochazka’s injury.
Last season, Prochazka played in 10 games, starting the final five at left tackle. In 2022, his season was cut short after just three games due to another injury to his right knee. In 2021, he played in five games before suffering a torn ACL in his left knee.
Rhule also announced that freshman Roger Gradney has suffered a season-ending knee injury.
