Naeshaun Montgomery, a three-star wide receiver from Miami (Fla.) Central, has set his commitment date for August 25th. When last interviewed by Swamp247, Montgomery mentioned this date, which is now confirmed. Florida remains a strong contender among his final choices, which include Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Penn State, and Oregon.
Montgomery plans to visit Gainesville this weekend for the ‘Grill in the Ville’ recruiting event, marking his first return since his official visit in early June. He expressed a desire to strengthen his bond with Florida’s coaches and players, emphasizing the importance of building relationships ahead of a potential commitment.
In addition to the July 27 event, Montgomery might also visit on July 25 to observe a summer workout practice, a visit he missed last month due to scheduling conflicts. He’s considering staying through the cookout event or making two separate trips.
Florida and Penn State are the primary contenders for Montgomery, with Florida being particularly persistent in their recruitment efforts. Wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales and head coach Billy Napier have been in constant communication with him. Montgomery noted an increase in Napier’s efforts over the past month, highlighting their daily interactions and Napier’s emphasis on Montgomery being a priority for the Gators.
Florida, which already has commitments from four-star wide receivers Vernell Brown III and Joshua Moore for the 2025 class, is keen to add Montgomery to their roster.
