BREAKING: Yankees’ Aaron Judge names opposing player he would want as a teammate

Aaron Judge Names Gunnar Henderson as Dream Teammate

On Monday, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge gave high praise to one of his American League All-Star teammates.

Speaking to reporters before the All-Star Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Judge was asked which opposing player he’d like as a teammate. His choice? Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson.

It’s easy to see why Judge admires Henderson. The Orioles infielder has been a breakout star this season, hitting .286 with 28 home runs and 63 RBIs in 95 games before the All-Star break. Only Judge (34) and Shohei Ohtani (29) have more home runs than the 23-year-old phenom from Baltimore.

According to Baseball Reference, Judge leads in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) with 6.4, just slightly ahead of Henderson’s 6.3 this season.

With Henderson and Adley Rutschman leading the Orioles, it’s unlikely the Yankees will have a chance to acquire the star shortstop anytime soon. However, Judge will enjoy playing alongside Henderson during Monday’s Midsummer Classic.
