Raiders’ Davante Adams Responds to Josh Jacobs’ Text About Reuniting on Packers

The Las Vegas Raiders are building a talented roster under head coach Antonio Pierce, who has earned strong support from his players. While the Raiders may not have the storied history of the Green Bay Packers, they are fostering a winning culture that could lead to significant success. A key figure in this culture is Davante Adams, who recently reacted to Josh Jacobs’ suggestion about potentially reuniting with the Packers.

Adams’ response came after expressing confidence in Pierce and taking a jab at former coach Josh McDaniels. There was also a trade proposal mentioned that would reunite Adams with Aaron Rodgers.

Adams’ reply to Jacobs was somewhat expected but reassuring for Raiders fans who believe in the team’s rebuilding efforts.

Davante Adams Rejects Josh Jacobs’ Plan

In March, Jacobs sent a text to Adams, asking, “You thinking about coming back.” Adams, formerly a Packers receiver and a favorite target of Aaron Rodgers, recently addressed Jacobs’ message, describing him as a close friend.

“It’s true, he did send that over,” Adams said. “Josh is one of my best friends, man. He’s hilarious, people don’t know how funny he is. It was definitely a joke, but it was one of those jokes where he was serious because he would like that. I told him you go ahead and hold it down and I’m gonna hold it down over here. I don’t think I’ll be coming back over there.”

Adams added that “nobody has to worry” about him leaving for his former team.

Davante Adams’ Impact on Raiders

At 31, the former Fresno State standout and current Raiders wide receiver is still in his prime. Last season, he caught 103 passes for nearly 1,200 yards, with eight touchdowns and an average of 11.1 yards per catch.

If the Raiders can improve their running game and quarterback Aidan O’Connell continues to develop, Adams could have an even more impressive season. Known for his explosive playmaking ability, Adams has the potential for even greater production. O’Connell’s growth is crucial, or else Adams might find himself with a new quarterback in the 2025-2026 season, assuming he remains with the Raiders as expected.
