5-star Offensive Lineman Michael Gibbs Commits to NC State

NC State secured its first offensive line recruit for the 2025 cycle on Sunday with the verbal commitment of Michael Gibbs, a top-25 in-state player. Gibbs selected NC State over Duke and Virginia Tech, among others. According to 247Sports, he stands at 6’4” and weighs 305 pounds. While he currently plays tackle in high school, 247Sports considers him an interior offensive line prospect. However, he appears capable of handling the tackle position at the next level, despite not being the ideal height for it.

NC State’s early interest played a crucial role in Gibbs’ decision—the Wolfpack was his first power-conference scholarship offer. This early commitment is particularly significant for in-state recruits.

NC State now has 12 commitments for 2025, with two-thirds coming in the last month. June has been a productive month for the Wolfpack.
