Oregon Lands Commitment from Five-Star CB Dorian Brew
Oregon’s impressive recruiting streak continues with the commitment of five-star cornerback Dorian Brew. On Saturday, Oregon secured Top247 five-star CB Dorian Brew, just hours after landing four-star TE Da’Saahn Brame.
Brew announced his decision via social media, with Hayes Fawcett of On3.com first reporting the news. Brew, from Conroe, Texas, chose Oregon over Florida State, Ohio State, Texas, LSU, and others, making him the fifth Oregon commitment in the past week. He is ranked No. 27 overall in the Top247, the No. 5 cornerback, and the No. 7 player in Texas. In the 247Sports Composite, he is ranked No. 61 overall, the No. 7 cornerback, and the No. 11 player in Texas.
247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins describes Brew as a well-sized cornerback with a thicker build through the mid-line. He primarily plays press-man and off-man coverages, is notably physical, and is effective in making open-field stops, suggesting boundary role potential. He needs to improve disengaging from blocks and consistently turning and locating the ball. Brew has a strong multi-sport background with several sub-11.00 100-meter times. Ivins projects Brew as a high-major cover man capable of multiple roles in the secondary, with a high long-term ceiling due to his physical tools and verified athleticism.
