OG Anunoby Signs Massive $212 Million Deal with the Knicks

The New York Knicks successfully re-signed OG Anunoby to a significant contract, preventing the wing from entering NBA free agency. This news followed closely on the heels of the Knicks acquiring Mikal Bridges.

“Free agent forward OG Anunoby plans to sign a five-year, $212.5 million contract to return to the New York Knicks, sources tell ESPN,” Adrian Wojnarowski announced on June 26 via X. “The deal includes a player option and a trade kicker.”

The Knicks’ acquisition of Bridges, a former Villanova standout, and the re-signing of Anunoby further solidify their roster. It appears Bridges had been angling for a move to the Knicks, pushing for the trade from the Nets.

“Mikal Bridges’ side made it clear to the Nets he wanted to be a Knick,” Ian Begley reported on June 25 via X. “But the Nets didn’t have to trade him. The Knicks made an offer Brooklyn couldn’t refuse.”

The addition of Bridges and Anunoby’s new deal will pose a challenge for the Knicks as they navigate the salary cap in the coming years. Both Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle have player options in 2025, prompting potential decisions on extensions for these star players.
