Indiana Fever Announce New Head Coach
Indianapolis, IN – June 24, 2024
The Indiana Fever have officially announced the hiring of Christie Sides as their new head coach. Sides, who has a long history with both collegiate and professional basketball, takes over as the ninth head coach in the history of the franchise.
Sides brings a wealth of experience to the Fever, having previously served as an assistant coach for multiple WNBA teams, including the Chicago Sky and the Atlanta Dream. She also has significant international coaching experience, having worked in Russia with Spartak Moscow Region, where she contributed to back-to-back FIBA EuroLeague Championships in 2009 and 2010​​.
“We are thrilled to welcome Christie Sides as the new head coach of the Indiana Fever,” said Fever General Manager Lin Dunn. “Her extensive experience and proven track record in both the WNBA and international basketball make her the perfect fit for our team. We are confident that she will bring a fresh perspective and strong leadership to our program.”
Sides began her coaching career at Ruston High School in Louisiana before moving on to assist at her alma mater, Louisiana Tech. She further developed her coaching credentials with stints at LSU and Northwestern, before transitioning to the WNBA. Her return to the Fever marks a full circle, having previously been part of the team’s coaching staff from 2017 to 2019​ .
