Florida Gators secured a commitment from quarterback prospect Will Griffin on Saturday. The 2026 recruit, hailing from Tampa, FL, specifically from Jesuit High School, made his pledge to Florida after visiting the campus earlier in the day alongside his family.
While the Gators are still actively recruiting for the 2025 quarterback position, Griffin’s early commitment represents a significant win for Billy Napier and his coaching staff. Notably, Griffin has strong ties to Florida, as his father is an alum of the university.
Regarded as one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the Class of 2026, Griffin boasts impressive stats from his previous season, where he completed 68% of his passes, accumulating 3,404 yards and 34 touchdowns across 13 games. Additionally, he showcased his versatility with 83 rushing yards and an extra touchdown.
Griffin’s familiarity with Florida’s program and coaching staff is evident, and he has also developed a close relationship with quarterback DJ Lagway, whom he shadowed for a day during the spring.
