2026 four-star quarterback Will Griffin discusses his commitment to Florida
The Florida Gators secured their first verbal commitment for the 2026 recruiting class over the weekend, and it was a significant one. Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit’s four-star quarterback Will Griffin became the inaugural pledge for Billy Napier’s team on Saturday. Griffin announced his commitment to Coach Napier at the 50-yard line of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Having grown up in a Florida Gators household and been a fan since childhood, this was a special moment for Griffin.
“I wanted my commitment to be unforgettable,” Griffin shared with Swamp247. “I wanted it to be a memory that would last a lifetime. Choosing UF felt like the best decision for my family and me at the right time. I ran out to the 50-yard line where Coach [Billy] Napier was waiting, surrounded by my family and close friends. We spent the entire day together during their official visits, which was pretty special. I love my family and being able to come home, see my brother play high school games on Fridays, and have them watch me on Saturdays. The two and a half hour drive is manageable, making it easy for my family and friends to visit.”
