Golden State Warriors Linked to Potential Blockbuster Trade for Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler’s tenure with the Miami Heat might be nearing its end, with a potential sensational trade to the Golden State Warriors being discussed for the six-time All-Star. If the Heat cannot reach a contract extension with Butler, they might consider trading him, and the Warriors could emerge as a key contender for his acquisition.
Golden State Warriors Expected to Pursue Jimmy Butler
Currently, the Philadelphia 76ers are seen as the main competition for Butler, reportedly willing to offer him the max deal he desires, which Miami may not be able to provide.
However, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors are also expected to be in the mix if Butler is available for trade:
“If the Heat shop Jimmy Butler, I would expect the Warriors to enter the conversation to at least some degree,” Slater wrote.
It is unclear what trade package the Warriors would need to offer to entice the Heat, but it’s certain that Golden State would have to make significant concessions to meet Miami’s demands.
Brandon Ingram Not an Option for the Warriors
Another player frequently mentioned in trade rumors is New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram. However, Slater reports that the Warriors are not expected to pursue Ingram if he becomes available.
