Auburn Tigers News: Bruce Pearl Seeks Another Transfer, Auburn Football Offers Chris Davis’ Son
In today’s update on Auburn Tigers News, Auburn basketball head coach Bruce Pearl is on the hunt for another transfer, while Auburn football has extended an offer to the son of Chris Davis.
The Auburn basketball program has been very active in the transfer portal this offseason. With Aden Holloway, Tre Donaldson, and KD Johnson joining the team and the departures of Lior Berman and Jaylin Williams, head coach Bruce Pearl is focused on reloading his roster for the 2024-25 season.
The Tigers will welcome incoming freshmen Tahaad Pettiford and Jahki Howard this fall and have already added two transfers: JP Pegues and Ja’Heim Hudson. According to Pearl, the team is still looking to add one more transfer.
“I think that’s the last piece — one more impactful guard,” said Pearl, per Auburn Rivals. “We really need one more guy who has a chance to compete. It doesn’t matter which position it is, whether it’s a 1/2 or a 2/1, a 2/3, a 3/2 — it doesn’t really matter. But it’ll be one more guard.”
Auburn Football Offers Chris Davis’ Son
Former Auburn football player Chris Davis made history with his iconic 109-yard return in the 2013 Iron Bowl, known as The Kick Six, securing a 34-28 victory over Alabama. Earlier this week, Auburn football extended an offer to his son, Chris ‘CJ’ Davis, a running back in the recruiting class of 2028. CJ Davis will begin his freshman season at Hewitt-Trussville in Alabama this fall. Previously, he received an offer from former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn at UCF and has also garnered interest from Florida State and Arkansas.
