UNC Basketball has extended an offer to a top-40 prospect in the Class of 2025 after a standout performance at the Puma event in Wichita. The UNC coaching staff didn’t get to watch four-star forward Nikolas Khamenia compete over the weekend, but they extended an offer to him shortly afterward. Khamenia, who announced the offer on social media, also has offers from schools like Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, St. John’s, and Stanford.
North Carolina has been in contact with Khamenia since January, and the official offer signifies their strong interest in his recruitment. During the Puma event, Khamenia led his team, BTI Basketball Club, to a 5-0 record, with a notable 36-point game against SA Future. Ranked No. 36 overall in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports Composite, he is also the fourth-best prospect from California. His recent performances suggest he could become one of the top rising prospects in his class.
Khamenia’s skills make him a great fit for Hubert Davis’s style at UNC, particularly as a “stretch four” with competitive drive, toughness, and the ability to stretch the floor offensively. UNC has been actively recruiting for the Class of 2025, and the recent weekend event has positioned them well with several standout players. It remains to be seen which recruits will ultimately choose Chapel Hill as their future home.
