Under the guidance of Mike Woodson, the Hoosiers have effectively utilized the transfer portal this spring, and Hatton could be the final addition to this impressive class. Along with commitments from Oumar Ballo, Kanaan Carlyle, Luke Goode, and Myles Rice, Indiana’s four-player transfer class is ranked as the second-best in the nation by 247Sports, trailing only Arkansas.
Hatton’s Background and High School Career Hatton, a 6’10” power forward/center from Georgetown, Indiana, played at North Harrison High School. During his time there, he often faced off against notable players like Purdue’s Trey Kaufman-Renn and Kooper Jacobi from Silver Creek, with North Harrison losing to Silver Creek in sectional matches during Hatton’s junior and senior years.
College Career and Transfer Journey After high school, Hatton received multiple mid-major offers and serious interest from Clemson, though they didn’t extend an offer. He initially chose William & Mary but transferred to Bellarmine after one season.
Performance and Stats As a junior this past season, Hatton averaged 10.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 0.8 blocks, 1.3 assists, and 1.0 turnovers per game. This was a significant improvement from his freshman and sophomore seasons, where he averaged 4.4 and 3.5 points per game, respectively.
Hatton’s commitment adds depth and talent to Indiana’s roster, complementing their strong transfer class as they prepare for the upcoming season.
