West Virginia University’s men’s basketball program has bolstered its frontcourt with the addition of Eduardo Andre, a transfer from Fresno State. The signing was officially announced on Friday morning, marking a significant addition to the team’s roster.
Head coach Darian DeVries expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, highlighting Andre’s potential contributions on both ends of the court. DeVries emphasized Andre’s ability to provide valuable rim protection defensively while also enhancing the team’s frontcourt options offensively, particularly in the transition game.
Originally hailing from Luanda, Angola, Andre spent his formative years in London, England before making his way to the United States. He commenced his collegiate career at Nebraska, where he gained valuable experience over two seasons, appearing in 50 games and maintaining modest statistical averages. Transitioning to Fresno State, Andre notably improved his performance, averaging 7.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while showcasing an impressive 60% shooting accuracy from the field across two seasons.
With one year of eligibility remaining, Andre presents a promising addition to West Virginia’s roster, bringing a blend of experience, defensive prowess, and offensive versatility to the team.
