Beginning his college career at William & Mary, Hatton is known to possess greater shooting abilities than what was showcased during his time at Bellarmine. He is capable of playing both the power forward and center positions.

Hatton, hailing from Indiana (specifically North Harrison), has long held a desire to play for the Hoosiers. He embraces the role of a role player at a high-major school and is recognized for his maturity and academic success.

Numerous schools, including Indiana, Louisville, Clemson, Minnesota, and Ohio State, have shown interest in Hatton since he entered the transfer portal.
